Safa Sarvestani is an interdisciplinary artist from Iran whose work bridges performance, installation, and design. She holds a BFA in Theatre Directing from Tehran University and an MFA in Design and Technology from the University of Minnesota.

Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at venues including the Walker Art Center (Minneapolis), Plains Art Museum (Fargo), Southern Theatre, Park Square Theatre, Ananya Dance Theatre, Moving Theatre Company, Rochester Art Center, and Rarig Center for the Arts, as well as art spaces in Tehran, Shiraz, France, and Germany. She has also presented work at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, the 7th São Paulo International Performance Art Exhibition in Brazil, the Out of Site Festival in Chicago, and the Stein Luminary Gallery in Boise.

Sarvestani’s practice is grounded in a commitment to social justice, environmental awareness, and community engagement. Her work investigates themes of mobility, displacement, and the layered relationships between bodies and place. Drawing from personal and collective histories, she creates performances and installations that explore how movement, identity, and memory are shaped by larger political forces. Through her art, she invites audiences into spaces of reflection and critical conversation.
